We took the subway from Little India to Orchard and walked 20min from there to the botanical garden. Strolled around the garden. The weather was really sunny and hotter than usual. We visited the orchidarium. Really beautiful and pleasant visit. We took a lot of pictures! Had a lunch at Halia, a new Asian cuisine restaurant inside the park. Very good lunch and nice atmosphere. But we got a strong rain forest rain and thunderstorm. We waited half an hour for better weather. Went to the visitor center under the rain and took a cab back to the hotel. Took a shower and packed everything before checking out. Had a free drink at the hotel bar and took the MRT back to the airport. Where we had another pleasant example of how Singaporian people are efficient. We used internet for free in the airport for a while before boarding.
We woke up late around 09.00, had breakfast in the hotel. Went to Harbour Front with MRT. Took the cable car to Sentosa Island and walked along the Island beaches. Visited the most southern point of Asia. Went to the Dolphin show, walked along the beaches again and stopped at Costes for a salad. Went to the Underworld water aquarium. We took the MRT and then the bus to the Night Safari in the North of the city. Was raining a lot. Took a tour with a tram within the park and walked under the bats! Had dinner at the museum and went back to the hotel by cab.
We walked from the hotel to Orchard road and we tried a star fruit juice, recommended by Elsa. We then took the subway to Chinatown. We visited the Heritage museum, went to Maxwell Hawk center for lunch and tried the Laksa… Kept walking for a while and stopped in a Spanish tapas restaurant. Went to another shopping center and looked for watches and bought envelops. Walked around and saw Temples and Mosques. Walked to the colonial area and the quay. Took the boat at night over the Singapore river around the quay. Went to Clark quay and had dinner in Indochine restaurant. Was an excellent dinner. Went back to the hotel via the MRT and arrived there around midnight. We were really really tired.
First day of our honeymoon trip. We arrived at the airport around 18.00, and around 20.00 at the Albert Court Hotel in Little India. We went out for dinner at Banana Leaf Apollo in Little India for a great meal on banana leaves! We walked around in the streets that were full of people but only men, no woman. Still until 23.00, it is possible to buy fruits and vegs on the street markets. We went back to the hotel and planned our next day.
Anne prepared a delicious meal. We had “Lotte à l’Américaine” with white wine and apple tart “façon Mamy”.
